As part of the Regional Heritage Days, enjoy a stroll through this valley and discover the unique features of the village of Klingenthal, the site of a former Royal Cutlery Manufactory.
Klingenthal is one of the youngest villages in the region; it grew up around the cutlery factory, established in 1730 at the request of Louis XV. The aim was to set up a cutlery factory within the Kingdom of France so as to end dependence on foreign countries for the supply of weapons. At the time, it was necessary to construct the various buildings and install the water supply system.
